Privacy policy

Who we are

Havenmist Inc. ("Havenmist", "we", "us") is a cleaning company based in Calgary, Alberta. We handle personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's anti-spam law (CASL).

What we collect

We collect only what we need to quote, book, and carry out your cleaning.

• Contact details: your name, email address, and phone number.
• Property details: your address and postal code, the size and layout of your home or business, and the type of clean you want.
• Visit details: preferred dates and times, how we will get in (for example a key, lockbox, or access code), parking, pets, and any scent or product sensitivities you tell us about.
• Messages and photos: anything you send us by form, email, text, or phone, including photos of areas you want cleaned.
• Billing details: the information needed to invoice you and record your payment.
• Website information: basic technical information such as your device type, browser, approximate location, and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and similar tools.

Why we collect it

• To prepare your estimate or quote and reply to your questions.
• To schedule, carry out, and follow up on your cleaning.
• To enter your property safely on the day of your clean.
• To invoice you, take payment, and keep the records the law requires.
• To understand how people find and use our website, and to measure whether our advertising works.
• To send you news or offers, only if you have agreed to receive them.

We do not sell your personal information.

Consent

We ask for your consent when you send us a quote request or message. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, although we may then be unable to provide some services. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.

We take before-and-after photos for marketing only if you have agreed to it, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

Who we share it with

Our cleaners receive the details they need to do your clean. We also use service providers that handle information for us:

• Netlify hosts our website and keeps a copy of form submissions.
• Web3Forms delivers quote requests and messages to our inbox.
• Jobber is the software we use to manage clients, quotes, scheduling, and invoices.
• Google provides our advertising and measurement tools and the fonts on this website.
• Our email, phone, and payment providers.

We may also share information when the law requires it.

Information stored outside Canada

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held there is subject to the laws of that country. To ask how we collect, use, or share information through these providers, or to get a copy of our policies about them, contact our Privacy Officer.

Cookies and advertising

Our website uses the Google tag to count visits, calls, and quote requests that come from our ads, and Google may use it to show our ads to people who have visited this site. You can control ad personalization in your Google ad settings, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How we protect it

We limit access to your information to the people who need it to serve you, and we keep it in password-protected accounts. Keys, lockbox codes, and access codes are used only to enter your property for a booked visit.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, for example for tax records. After that we securely delete it or make it anonymous.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used, and ask us to correct it. Send your request in writing to our Privacy Officer. We will respond within the time PIPA allows, which is generally 45 days.

Please contact our Privacy Officer first, at cleaning@havenmist.ca, and we will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
